What I want to be when I grow up…

This summer the boys and I hosted a ‘what i want to be when i grow up’ party.  We asked that their friends come dressed up as their future selves.  Check out their cuteness!

Shout out to Chef Guida, aka Sarah for helping with the party and grabbing the camera when I had to put it down!

Food was served for the future astronauts out there…

and the firefighters…

Food for the farmers AND drinks for sneaky mustached ninja’s.

And to top it off…the guests had their futures determined by the inside of their cupcake!

If they got a penny, they’d wind up RICH!  Girls pay close attention!  Hahaha…

A ring meant you’d get married and since the party consisted of mainly boys, most were hoping to find a button which meant they’d never get married!

If your cupcake had a baby inside it meant you’d have a family.  Again, not super popular among the boys!

It turned out to be a typical hot Cali day so the costumes didn’t stay on for long!  What was I thinking?  A costume party in the summer?!

Thank you little people for a great time! Don’t grow up too fast!

Happy Father’s Day!

When I stumbled across this adorable questionnaire on a personal blog that I follow, I thought I’d try it out on our boys for Father’s Day.  The first answer is our 7 yr old followed by our 4 yr old.

My Dad’s name is David/David.

He is  34 or 35/15  years old.

He weighs the same as a giraffe/rock.

He is as tall as a giraffe’s body/large robot.

My Dad’s work is nurse/going to work.

My Dad’s favorite food is fish tacos from Costa Vida/jalapenos.

If Dad would go on vacation he would go to Canada/Texas and take his kids and wife/clothes.

Dad’s favorite thing to do is spend time with his boys/wrestle.

My Dad is good at kissing and hugging mom/work.

My Dad shows me he loves me when he hugs me and tells me he loves me/he doesn’t.

Happy Father’s Day to my extraordinary husband!

WHAT A YEAR!

“A birthday is just the first day of another 365-day journey around the sun.  Enjoy the trip.”  ~Author Unknown

Baby Dre is O-N-E! This has been both the longest and shortest year of my life…but it is still hard to believe that the first year has passed. We have a happy healthy little man who keeps us entertained every minute of the day.

I saw the idea for these photographs on Pinterest and knew immediately that I HAD to try this with Dre. I know I’m completely biased…but I think he is ADORBS!

Noah turns 7

Dude!  I have a 7-year-old?!  What a year.  The transition from kindergarten to first grade was hard.  Longer days, timed math tests, timed sight words, new playground rules…Wow!  It stresses ME out!  He only likes school ‘sometimes’, which I actually think means ‘never’.  It’s a good thing for outlets like Tae Kwon Do and track!

Here Noah answers some very important questions but you’ll notice he has a hard time committing to some of his answers…

1..Use one word to describe yourself.  Nice.

2..What do you want to be when you grow up?  A policeman, but then you never know when you could get killed by a bad guy so maybe a person who studies animals.

3..Where will you live?  In the forest with the animals.

4..What is your favorite food?  I don’t know!  I have so many favorites.  Sushi, I guess.

5..If you could be a superhero, who would you be?  Black Panther

6..Who is your best friend?  I don’t think I can narrow it down but it would be Cy or Mateo.

7..What do you think of girls?  I don’t really think about them that much.

8..Do you wish you had more brothers and sisters in your family?  No.   Well, maybe baby Dre.

9..What’s your favorite thing to do?  Play with my dad.

10..How old are you when you’re an adult?  20 or 30.  I think 20 because you’re 20 something right?

Fortune is smiling upon you…

We had some requests for more fortune pictures, so here are a few humorous ones that Noah snapped.
