the ‘B’ family

We were thrilled when little Miss V brought her parents down from Seattle for a visit this spring. When booking at Hotel Cooke they had a well-balanced itinerary that included hiking, picnicking, dining out, + relaxing. They completed their vacation with a family photography session, something we never got around to after V was born + we still lived in Seattle!

We picked a little park just down the street before the light slipped behind the mountains. Content with me documenting her every more, V just motored around being as adorable as could be.  We loved having time with this sweet family + it was wild to see how much V had grown! …We hope they book again!

Tues. @ 2

So…(sheepish grin) its been 1,203 days since our last Tuesday at 2. This was a project we started back in 2012 and has gotten more popular every time we do it! This was ‘supposed’ to be a bi-annual project…but…well…ok…we have no excuses!
The rules are simple–On Tuesday at 2 o’clock you grab your phone and take a photo of where you are and what you are doing. Caption it and send it to us.
We love doing this post and seeing all the fun, random and interesting lives that people lead on a regular Tuesday at 2 o’clock.
This time we have some great shots from ALL over the world, Finland, Italy, United States (east and west) and Canada.
We love sifting through all the shots that get sent in from all different time zones…Let us know if you would like to join in next time!

The Humber Wedding

I’ve known Emily since she was just a young thing and we had just moved to California. Over the years she became like a sister, not only to me, but to my boys. When Emily reached out to inform me that she was getting married I remember thinking “but she’s only 12!!!” I had a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that she was not just a little girl anymore but quite possibly old enough to walk down the aisle!

I flew up + Jenn flew down to assist documenting Emily + Isaac’s wedding day in Northern California. It was then that I saw Emily had grown up + was indeed old enough to get hitched! Her smile went on for days + she looked radiant. Jenn + I had the best time being able to shoot together. The couple was so at ease with each other that it made our job easy!

To love, laughter + happily ever after, Congratulations, Isaac + Emily!

The charming Gibson House in Woodland, CA served as a gorgeous backdrop as the couple exchanged vows in front of family + friends. After the ceremony guests were allowed inside for tours of the Historic Mansion  + we snuck the bride + groom in for a few portraits as well.

Hailey M. Graduation

Okay, so this day was amazing! Not only was the weather and location on point but the model was oh soo gorgeous and she couldn’t stop smiling! Like literally; we tried to do some serious poses and it just made her laugh and smile even bigger!

Hailey, your smile can brighten up an entire room; you are such an amazing and kind hearted girl. I wish you all the best in your future and know you have amazing friends and family cheering you on all the way!

This post wouldn’t be complete without the crown vic photos…After all the formal photos were said and done, this wild bunch suggested they climb on top of the crown vic for a couple pictures. I wasn’t the only one taking photos, even some passersby were taking snapchat photos. I just hope they got my good side and used a flattering filter on us before they posted it to their story!

Welcome Baby ‘B’

I feel I may often over stay my welcome when I go to a client’s home to photograph their newborns. It’s just too hard to leave those precious little ones and their doting mothers who quickly become friends. There is nothing better than staying in touch with clients + watching their families grow.

This session was a special one because I got to fly into Spokane + stay a few days in the home of one of my favorite families. Big sister doted on her new brother and her parents did an amazing job of making her feel just as important as ever. I gotta say they are doing a bang up job raising their kids. I’m guessing it must be from all that time watching my husband + I raise our boys. . . and then doing the opposite!
