Leeeet’s gooo….uh…who are we watching again…?

Okay…So, while I can appreciate the sport and athleticism…I’m just not a huge fan of watching sports (ok! ok!….I’m sorry!). Apparently, I’m not the only one-see the video at the end! However, being in New York, it’s almost a sin not to attend a Knicks, Mets or Yankee’s game. So here we go….

Knicks vs Nets….and no….Jay Z did not show up. Bummer. However, the nachos were great and I learned that Stoudemire is the man.

a whole ‘nother ballgame for me…

I won’t pretend that I’m a huge baseball fan….however-Baseball is ‘yuge’ here in New York. On game days the subways are filled with Yankees and Mets shirts and I am now very familiar that Jeter, Wright, Santana, and Rodriguez are BASEBALL players and not football, soccer or the dozen other sports players that I don’t follow. (However I will admit to knowing that Derek Jeter has a shoe addiction.)
My cousin Tim is a huge baseball nut and offered to take us to a Mets game….and I’m always up for checkin’ out new stuff. So off we went to Citi Field-The Mets brand spankin’ new stadium in Queens.

The front entrance of Citi Field features a rotunda named after Jackie Robinson and honors his life and accomplishments. Engraved into the rotunda’s 160-foot diameter floor and etched into the archways are words and larger-than-life images that defined Robinson’s nine values: Courage, Excellence, Persistence, Justice, Teamwork, Commitment, Citizenship, Determination and Integrity. Robinson’s famous quote: “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives,” is engraved into the upper ring of the rotunda.

Just love the colors of the grass and the dirt.

I love anyplace where I can go home with cotton candy!

Meeting Dana White

Weeks earlier, Wayne and Cole bought tickets to UFC lll, so we decided to follow Dana’s Twitter to see if we could get some of the free tickets he gives out for each show for MOI. We patiently waited…waited…and waited for him to twitter. When he finally DID…it took us 15 minutes to get to Pink Berry (keep in mind…getting ANYWHERE in Manhattan in 15 minutes is pretty good!). The first guy got there in 1 min 30 seconds! BaM! However the tickets were gone just shortly before we got there.  Too bad….Obviously we missed getting tickets but he was very cool….stayed around and took pictures and talked with all of us. It was worth the wait just to meet him and get our UFC weekend started! Pretty rad guy.
