I woke the other morning with some exciting news! Color Inc. Pro Lab had chosen one of my images to put up on their blog as Pic of the Day. To see which image they chose, click here.
I have the best clients! A few weeks ago, the M family invited me down to LA to photograph their family at the Santa Monica Pier. Let me think about it…get chauffeured around, no cooking, 8 hours uninterrupted sleep, hang out with some seriously great people…
Really?! As if I’d say no! (Especially knowing this little guy would be on the other side of the lens!)
My camera and quadriceps femoris knew no rest that afternoon! Also a’pier’ing at the same time to be photographed was the G family. The kids, besides being adorable right down to the last freckle, were rock stars. They had to follow us all over the busy, busy boardwalk…not an easy feat with all the distractions! I had a spectacular time hanging out with these guys. And much like ones time spent on the pier, there was never a dull moment!
Nothing beats the fresh winter fruit in Northern California. I don’t even know what you call that stuff I ate while growing up in Saskatchewan?! This household loves our fruit, so what’s better than picking it straight from the tree?
My latest obsession is the chocolate, caramel, sea salt and coffee combo and it doesn’t have to be in that specific order! Ahhhh…all is ok in my world when I have a Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha in my hand or a helping of Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato or nibble on some Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels or…maybe you have one that I haven’t tried? I am VERY open to suggestions!
So I’m going to be honest. I don’t always smile at the idea of school breaks. Come on, cut me some slack. I’m a stay at home mom of some pretty intense boys. But I recently read that a baby smiles between fifty and seventy times a day, and a toddler approximately six hundred times. And the question was asked “What has robbed us of our smile?” And with that I decided I was going to work hard each day at bringing smiles to the faces of my boys and in return I was going to LOVE this Christmas break.
