D&L engagement

Over the past year it has been so awesome being roomies with Laura. Although her engagement to Damen means I must say goodbye to the luxury living at the condo -rip rooftop hot tub- I can 100% say I am beyond ecstatic for Damen and Laura!!

Naturally I was very excited that Laura asked me to do their engagement photos, and they made my job easy breezy, being so cute and natural together. It was so lovely to photograph this dreamy couple.

It has been so awesome getting to know Damen and Laura better and see first hand what an awesome team they make, being able to put together a wedding in two months is testament to that alone! You guys are such a sweet couple and I so look forward to sharing the same city as you two!

Welcome Baby ‘A’

It was a lovely surprise to get a call that a sweet friend/client was expecting another baby…boy number 4! I had met this extraordinary couple in Lamaze class over 11 years ago and we have stayed in each others lives ever since – even with our move to Washington. I was thrilled to be flown back down to California to continue documenting the growth of their family. Each boy as handsome as the next!

I’m not even their mama and my heart was bursting as I watched the big boys dote on their new brother. Not to sound cliché but Mama’s hands will be full but her heart is fuller (argh…that’s not even a word is it?!?)

Let’s not forget Calvin…boy number 5!

The ‘B’ Family

You may recognize these sweet faces as I’ve been photographing them for years now. It makes my heart happy to continue to be invited back down each year. For this family it’s always been about capturing the real life moments. Usually this means chasing them around their gorgeous property in Clarksburg Wine Country. It doesn’t get any sweeter than this, am I right?! …except it does! There’s another wee one on the way!

‘L’ turns 1!

What’s more delicious than the cheeks of a 1-year-old? Dressing those cheeks up in a tutu + a side of balloons!

(And is it weird that I’m jealous of a 1-year-olds closet? Srsly, like, just supersize everything for me please!)

Walking, jibber jabbing and trying her best to keep up with her big brother, this one is growing up too fast! Happy ONE year, lil Miss ‘L’!

Simon turns 8!

Seeing that I’ve decided to retire from DIY birthdays, Simon blew out his candles at SkyMania this year. It was well worth having a place for the kids to bounce off the walls that wasn’t my house!

This kid is an active one. When he is not participating in Track, he’s playing Basketball or tearing it up in Running Club. The last 5K we ran as a family (let’s be real, I walked) he left us all in the dust!

Years ago when explaining to my boys about the different love languages, Simon was able to determine that one of the ways he felt most loved was ‘quality time’. This has proven to be true. This past year he is happiest when convincing one of us to play a board game or cuddling up together to read a book. His love of reading this year has blossomed and he often has 3 different books on the go.
