Congrats to the sweet Mcmeeken family who just got a whole lot sweeter with their latest addition to the fam. This lil bundle of cuteness was my easiest model to date, just snoozing right through 90% of his entire shoot. I think baby “H” gets his good looks from his parents but he might get his sleeping skills from Papa John.

I feel I may often over stay my welcome when I go to a client’s home to photograph their newborns. It’s just too hard to leave those precious little ones and their doting mothers who quickly become friends. There is nothing better than staying in touch with clients + watching their families grow.
This session was a special one because I got to fly into Spokane + stay a few days in the home of one of my favorite families. Big sister doted on her new brother and her parents did an amazing job of making her feel just as important as ever. I gotta say they are doing a bang up job raising their kids. I’m guessing it must be from all that time watching my husband + I raise our boys. . . and then doing the opposite!
I found myself back in Northern California a few weeks ago with this adorable growing family! Miss ‘C’ was already a month old + as sweet as could be. Loving to be swaddled up tight, she hardly made a peep! I have had the privilege to photograph all their newborn faces except the oldest + this little face fits in perfectly with the others. She is adored grandly by her siblings + I consider myself a fan as well!
Miss ‘E’ was a huge helper to me this time around. Fetching blankets for me, holding the reflector (this girl has skillz!) + telling me all about her new sister. Her Mama is very lucky to have such a big girl around to help out! 
It was a lovely surprise to get a call that a sweet friend/client was expecting another baby…boy number 4! I had met this extraordinary couple in Lamaze class over 11 years ago and we have stayed in each others lives ever since – even with our move to Washington. I was thrilled to be flown back down to California to continue documenting the growth of their family. Each boy as handsome as the next!
I’m not even their mama and my heart was bursting as I watched the big boys dote on their new brother. Not to sound cliché but Mama’s hands will be full but her heart is fuller (argh…that’s not even a word is it?!?)
Let’s not forget Calvin…boy number 5!
This sweet baby girl is loved by so many already whether they’ve met her yet or not. I did not get to meet Baby ‘I’ until she was 3 weeks old, so by the time Week 3 rolled around I was chomping at the bit! She did not disappoint. From her chubby little cheeks right down to her little itty bitty toes, she was perfection.
I couldn’t wait to photograph Baby ‘I’ in her new place of residence. With her mother having a flair for design, especially nursery design, I knew how much preparation must have went into this particular nursery. Pretty much everything had been custom/handmade to some extent. Both Mom and Dad worked hard to add little touches that would make the new little nest unique. The hard work won’t stop there as little ones require a lot of work, but I trust they’ll do just fine;)
