The L family

This family was some of the first friends we made when we moved down here almost 7 years ago.  Back then they were a family of 4.  Two years ago along came Isaac and their life hasn’t been the same since–just ask the girls! My boys on the other hand were overjoyed by the addition!

My own lil’ wayne!

Well….yes! As many of you know, I have timidly entered the world of pregnancy and parenthood. To be honest, I’m a little nervous about all this ‘being a parent stuff’. While I love children and have always wanted a family….it is terrifying when I find myself googling strollers and diaper bags…I mean, all I ever googled before was people.com and TMZ! And so….my world is changing….sob!

Lil’ Wayne is delightful so far….kicking and growing…and keeping me starving all day long! We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl….we will wait and see. (But believe me, I’m dying to go shopping for him/her…baby clothes are so cute!) I’m due in the spring and if all goes well, we plan to have our little baby here in New York.

While pregnancy seems to be a blissful time for so many women (or sooo they claim?)…it has not been the most enjoyable few months of my life. Because of this, my half of the blog will be a little bare for the next little while. I love going out and exploring and taking photos along the way…and I enjoy blogging about it after.  However, lately it has become something that I just don’t have the energy for. I am still hopeful that I will wake up one morning and feel this surge of energy and complete lack of nausea…but until then…I’ll be sitting back with a chocolate bar and enjoying all the shoots that Melissa has been doing the past little while.

We don’t mind sand in our stiletto’s

A really great chance for us to meet up presented itself when Wayne received the opportunity to attend the SFN (Society for Neuroscience) conference in San Diego.  With only a couple of broken up days together, one vehicle and two active boys that had just spent many hours in that vehicle, our options were limited.  #1 on the list was the beach…ahhhhh….the beautiful Coronado Island.  And then just as the sun was going down we ended up at Seaport Village.  To all of you that scraped snow off your windshield this morning, we hope these photos will warm you up.

Mini vacation in So Cal

Last weekend we took a road trip down to southern California.  On the way down we stopped to visit some friends just north of LA.  We managed to pack in the sights of Malibu, Santa Monica and Venice Beach all in one day!  Typically the beaches are hopping but because of ‘winter’ they were pretty much abandoned…buncha sissies!

Down by the Venice canals we felt like we had entered another world!  So serene!

Anyone recognize this house?  Location hint…Venice Beach…

L + M {Engagement}

It was such a joy to do an engagement session with this couple.  They were so relaxed with one another and it was cute to watch him tease her mercilessly.  Time flew and before we knew it the sun was setting and we weren’t finished having fun!  Congrats to a beautifully in love couple.  I have no doubt that their fun-filled days have just begun!
