Merry and Bright {children}

This sweet little beauty is one of my favorite models.  She knows how to work it!  Remember her from this fun session?  My son Noah was so disappointed he wasn’t included in this session too! Look at this girl…can you blame him?

Annual convention of NERDS….um…i mean….

This year The Society of Neuroscience gathered in Washington, DC for their annual meeting. While Wayne the brain attended lectures, presented and did all kinds of smart stuff, Dre and I ripped around the city to check out the sights.  I’m a huge fan of this clean and beautiful city.  So many free museums to check out and although I’m usually bored with the history babble, there is something about Washington that makes it somewhat interesting.

I swear that everyone who lives downtown either jogs or does some form of outdoor physical activity – which makes the city seem fresh and energetic.  Not to mention that the people are so kind – either that or I’m beginning to think that the rude New Yorker is the norm?!  A few images from our week…

And my darling little man in the beautiful fall leaves.

Since we sometimes blog about fashion…I thought I’d add these last pictures. There was a rally around the White House which had all these people riding around on bicycles. They were dressed in this very ‘Mad Men’ style…and I loved it!

Grace turns One! {children}

As of last year, my Thanksgivings are no longer associated with the thought of which friend will take pity and invite our little Canadian family over.  Or once I’m there, how much food I can eat before having to roll away.

A year ago Thanksgiving, my friend and her husband welcomed teeny tiny little Grace into the world…2 lbs and 13 oz tiny.  This little fighter has come a long way since then.  It has truly been a year of miracles and blessings.  Click here to see how big she’s grown since I photographed her in February!

I love this fiery little beauty and her spirit.  Happy Birthday Grace and Happy Thanksgiving to the rest of you!

EAT MORE and more and more

This week I was craving something from the homeland.  A chewy Eat More (Canadian chocolate bar).  Growing up, my best friend was a genius at making these homemade.  I would try but mine would never turn out as good as hers.  Until today.  Although it could have something to do with the fact that I haven’t had one in years!

Eat More bar

1 cup of Pure Canadian Honey

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup bran

1 cup chopped peanuts

1/2 cup chopped sunflower seeds

1/2 cup peanut butter

Melt the first 2 ingredients together over low heat.  Add remaining ingredients; mix over low heat until it boils.  Pour into a greased 9×13 pan; press well.  Let cool.  Eat.  And then, eat more!
