Autumn in New York

“For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together.
For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad.”

Leeeet’s gooo….uh…who are we watching again…?

Okay…So, while I can appreciate the sport and athleticism…I’m just not a huge fan of watching sports (ok! ok!….I’m sorry!). Apparently, I’m not the only one-see the video at the end! However, being in New York, it’s almost a sin not to attend a Knicks, Mets or Yankee’s game. So here we go….

Knicks vs Nets….and no….Jay Z did not show up. Bummer. However, the nachos were great and I learned that Stoudemire is the man.

The Strassburgs {family}

With a new baby in the family, Grandma Eve called saying she would need a new family picture.  Seven children under the age of four!  Now that’s a lot of energy to keep up with!  It was adorable how these kids scrambled to be as close to their grandparents as possible for the family photo.  It was so obvious the love the children had for them. They are so lucky to live so close to one another!  Here are some shots for the grandparents of these adorable little munchkins who tried their best to be still last Saturday.

Baby C

I first met Cole’s mama when she was half way through her pregnancy and an instant friendship was formed…we’re both Canadian, eh?!  I was super excited when she asked me to photograph her new little man.  This one month old linebacker took me by surprise!  Little was not what came to mind when I laid eyes on Mr. Hunka Chunka baby Cole.

Megan is a flight attendant, so in this case the suitcase prop was a must.  Talk about precious cargo!

Our Fashion Week Family. Every season I look forward to seeing all the familiar faces at fashion week and this year was no different. We are a unique crew….from all over the world, all different ages, all different interests and yet we are able to have an absolute blast together! If it weren’t for this crew….Fashion week just wouldn’t be as fun!

We’ve been asked for fashion advice from Fashion Week….but I hardly feel like I can give any advice. So I turned to the witty advice of Tim Gunn and Victoria Beckham.

Tim Gunn: “I am not a fashion stylist, I’m a fashion therapist.”

Tim Gunn: “Most women wear clothes that are too big-that’s the comfort trap. Women don’t want to feel constrained, but I say, if you want to dress to feel as though you never got out of bed, then don’t.”

Tim Gunn: “Style is a fingerprint made up of a person’s point of view and taste. What we choose to wear and how we choose to wear it sends a message about how we want the world to perceive us.”

Victoria Beckham: “Find me a woman who doesn’t love accessories! They are like toys for grown-ups, aren’t they?”

Victoria Beckham: “Shoes are probably every woman’s number-one accessory. Maybe it’s a Cinderella complex, but there is just such great pleasure to be had in looking down at your feet and seeing something fabulous.”

Victoria Beckham: “Sometimes it seems easier to just follow the trends or make yourself look older. Don’t do it. Don’t listen to the voices that say you have to look a certain way. Fashion is about looking like you. Make a good foundation, then add those little details to bring it up to date. Listen to your inner voice. No one knows better than you what makes you feel good about yourself and look fantastic”
