Kate in Vegas

I was already in Las Vegas when I found out a friend had moved back there. So I got in touch with her to see if she would be willing to step in front of our cameras the next afternoon. After a few texts back and forth, she showed up at our hotel the next day with a suitcase of clothing in tow. And only 2 hours later she was off to work!

Brandi, Jenelle and I couldn’t have asked for a better subject for our whirl wind of a shoot. She was up for whatever and moved effortlessly all the while looking gorgeous! We have the construction workers catcalls to confirm that! Thank you, thank you Kate, you are a quick study with generous and kind spirit.

Something was missing from the next series…so on the fly we snagged Brandi’s necklace and turned it into headpiece. PS. Kate MADE this dress!!!

Sweat Body Lounge – Las Vegas

Once I had confirmed our trip to Las Vegas I immediately knew I had to reach out to Bre. Bre is the owner of Breanna Megan Studio, an interior designer and licensed artist based out of Las Vegas. We had met the last time we were in town and had photographed her and her new art collection in the desert. It was an exciting experience that we will never forget! If you missed it, click here. Jenelle of Beauti Photography and I couldn’t wait to work with her again.

This time when I called she had just finished a new project designing a hot yoga studio from the ground up! This was a first for her and WOW! The Sweat Body Lounge is a glam space! Congrats Bre and owner Madeline for creating the HOTTEST place in town:)

WPPI 2015 – Las Vegas

Yay!! It’s that time again! Wedding + Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) in Vegas! Speakers galore, a massive trade show, networking, swag, food, early mornings, late nights, endless walking, impromptu shoots…only a few days to fit so much in!

A major highlight was being able to reconnect with fellow colleagues Brandi of Brandi Schwartz Design and Photography (my P & S Weddings partner) and Jenelle of Beauti Photography. It’s a treasure to be able to have friends that not only support you but hold you accountable!

We always find time to head over to Richard Photo Lab at the trade show. They always have a cozy corner to listen in and to chat with some incredible film photogs in the business. And one night was spent in laughter as we listened to Joe McNally recount some of his amazing experiences working as a photojournalist for LIFE and National Geographic.

One afternoon we met with the multi-talented Bre from Breanna Megan Studio. She had just finished an exciting new project and we leant a hand in photographing it for her. More on that coming up soon!

After being there for only a day I learned a friend had moved back to Vegas, so I reached out to see if this beauty would step in and model for us. We were thrilled to find out she was free for a couple of hours. Check back in to see what we were able to throw together in just a short amount of time!

Lil Miss ‘I’ @ 5 months

How extra adorable is this baby age/stage? At what other point in your life can you stick your foot in your mouth and have everyone die over the cuteness?!

Back in February we travelled east to see lil Miss ‘I’ and her parents. Even though she’s ‘just’ a baby, my boys think she’s pretty special. She smiled the brightest when they were near, in fact it was a bit of a contest which one could get her to giggle the most! The giggles were contagious and I seriously thought of packing her up and bringing her home with us:)

A Breath of Fresh Air

A few weeks ago Curt and I planned a trip out to Lake Louise in Banff, Alberta to get our snowboarding fix in for the year. When I wasn’t plotting revenge on that FJ cruiser that cut us off to get to the ski hill one second faster, I was snapping photos faster than a hipster at Starbucks. So please, put on your 3D goggles and enjoy the show!

Also if you get the chance to sit it out or dance… just kidding I was gunna say if you get the chance to be in Calgary, stop in at The Uncommons in Inglewood. Seriously the coolest store ever!

And I feel like this post wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t include an obligatory selfie stick photo with dumpsters and mountains in the background. What a view 😉
