38th Annual Fifi Awards

It has been a while since I have stalked the celebs, so I went to Manhattan to check out the 38th annual Fifi Awards. The Fifi awards are the Oscar’s of the fragrance industry…and yes, it may sound strange….like seriously? Perfume awards? However, the fragrance industry is worth over 20 billion dollars in just the United States alone! And besides….New Yorkers need another excuse to dress up, look fabulous and walk the red carpet!

drama, drama, drama {teens + seniors}

I’ve been a fan of Justin since I watched his hilarious performance of Mushu in the musical production ‘Mulan’.  It was enjoyable to photograph this talented young man. It’s nice to see such a well-rounded kid…respectful, smart and a gifted athlete.

Memorial day

Well…our memorial day wasn’t as exciting as watching horses and bulls ripping down our main street…but Wayne and I decided to hit up the beach on Memorial day. I LOVE the beach. L.O.V.E the beach. In fact, as I was laying in the smoldering hot sun, I pondered the very deep question of which I liked best….. a day at the beach or a day at the mall? Deep….I know.

Growing up on the prairies the closest area of water was the watering hole where the cows drank…and the best tanning spot was on the roof of our house (although I have great memories of climbing up on the roof, flipping through Seventeen magazine, eating Spitz, listening to Ace of Base and pretending to not hear mom as she yelled for us to help fold laundry.).

Took these shots as we left….it was getting a tad crowded! ha ha! I guess everyone else in Westchester had the same idea as us!

Blogger bags

Coach recently collaborated with 4 bloggers to design 4 Limited Edition Coach bags.  These bags can only be found online.  I’m usually all about a classic look but I’m diggin’ the fringe trend…  Which one of these Coach Collectibles can you see yourself carrying around?  Krystal’s fringe shoulder bag, Emily’s satchel, Karla’s clutch or Kelly’s drawstring pouch?

My latest bag dilemma is looking for a trendy camera bag.  Right now I have the worlds most archaic bag and it doesn’t safely fit my gear.  My favorites are the  Kelly Moore bags and Epiphanie bags.  I’m awfully tempted to line my Coach tote with padding and velcro….any suggestions?

OR my birthday is coming up and y’all could start a collection?!  Just a little something for you to think about;)

Memorial Day weekend outings

What’s a long weekend without a parade?  Marysville hosted the 1st annual stampede parade and cattle drive.  Yes, that is correct…a cattle drive through downtown Marysville.

And what’s a cattle drive without a few rednecks?!  Watch out or you’ll wipe out in the poo…  Job security for the city street cleaners!

Stopped in for some Thai food Saturday evening…yummers!  We love to come here for the authentic Thai food and atmosphere.

Sopa Thai Cuisine

I guess I have no place making fun of rednecks, do I?

On the holiday Monday we took off with some friends to Colfax for some hiking.  GORGeous!  Bear River Trail…a perfect little spot to hike with children and lazy people…like me!  It was actually quite beneficial to have the kidlets with us because they would notice things at their level that I would have never seen.  AND they like to take breaks…like me!
