Elizabeth in Wonderland {teens + seniors}

We were both really excited to do a series with sweet, beautiful Lizz while back home. We wanted to pretty her all up for one session and rock her out for another.  It was really fun to do two completely opposite looks on Lizz and watch her go into character with each one.  After enduring all the primping, wearing a dress (gasp!), and riding a 90 pound fossil of a bike, we were surprised that she was still up for the second shoot!  Thank you Lizz for trusting us.  You are a beautiful soul.

The following images are ‘Lizz Enchanted’ …and in a short while we’ll post images from her edgier shoot.

This week I came across a photo of the same Zac Posen dress….who wore it better? Lynda Erkiletian from Real Housewives of DC or our own beautiful Lizz?

Baby R

How lucky was I that some friends from back home had their baby while I was there?!  AND they let me invade their beautiful home so I could photograph him?   To be honest I can’t say which I was more excited about–seeing their brand new baby boy or their house renovations!  Does that make me a bad person?  Maybe you don’t understand but this girl has great style!  Their house was a mix of modern and vintage pieces, all so cleverly put together.  Congrats to a chill and beautiful family and their latest modern piece!

Lil’ Peanut Graduates {teens + seniors}

Photo shoots with our little sister have always been a lot of fun but this one was a bigger deal…she was graduating from high school and was going to be the valedictorian, no less!   We couldn’t be more proud! Being the youngest of 7 children, she has definitely learned to hold her own.  No one dare cross her with her saucy and sarcastic attitude and looks of death.  Yes, we have taught you well little one!  It was so fun to come home and raid her closet, borrow her music, get into deep debates about who rocked the last season of Project Runway and all the while eating endless bags of Old Dutch potato chips.
As a graduation gift we wanted to pass on to you some words of wisdom that we hope will help you move forward in the REAL world.
1..Toonie Tuesday does not apply in the USA.  dang KFC!
2..Potato chips are not a vegetable.
3..The best way to save money is to forget who you borrowed it from.
4..Werewolves and vampires are not realistic choices for a life mate.
5..Blue and green should never be seen, only in a washing machine.
Congrats!
Here are our favorites of the beautiful graduate…

poutine and such…

I spent a week in Alberta after my sister’s graduation in Saskatchewan (pictures of the gorgeous graduate are on the way!)…and I found some of my favorite things that I can’t enjoy in New York.

While in Lethbridge I had to check out the giant second-hand store Value Village (I also love searching for a bargain!), poutine at Red Dog Diner, coffee at the Penny Coffee House, giant jacked up 4×4 trucks, the famous high level bridge, sushi nights with Wayne’s family, my chubby nephew Daxon, my beautiful niece Danika, aaaaand Pita Pit….sooo not fair that we don’t have one!!

Street Machine Weekend was on in Lethbridge while we were there. This lady cracked me up….

Mall Haul

My friends and family get a laugh out of how thrifty I can be.  The story that everyone loves to tell on me is the time I found a pink, puffy, GAP vest at a thrift store for $5.  Well…the next day was a 30% off day (I know right?  a discount day at a thrift store…how cool is that??) so I hid it and came back the next day and saved myself a whopping…$1.50!  Oh yeah!  You know what I can buy for $1.50?  Yeah?  I can’t think of anything right now either…

This month was a great month for finds!  ZAC freaking POSEN is now taking up space in my closet!  I don’t even care that I found him at Target.  Reminds me of NY fashion week 2009 when Jenn and I waited, freezing our tooshies off for a glimpse of the cutie designer.  We did not leave disappointed!

Pleated bikini top…$10.

My second find was a vintage skinny tie for my handsome hubby.  Not that he knows who Yves Saint Laurent is…although he can pronounce his name better than I can.  Soooo exciting…my heart is still racing…a designer tie AND my husband speaking french;)

Vintage skinny YSL tie…$3.25.
