A change can do you good…Part 2

We’re MOVING! Yes, our time in New York has finally come to an end. Wayne has received his PhD and we are ready for our next adventure. ….And that adventure is taking us to….Eugene, Oregon! Wayne scored an awesome postdoctoral position at the University of Oregon and will continue to do all kinds of smart things that I can’t even begin to try to explain on this blog post.

I don’t know anything about Eugene. In fact, the only thing I know about Oregon is from playing Oregon Trail–and that didn’t always seem to end well! I remember lots of  wooden wheels falling off…and not a lot of food…..SO if you are from Eugene or been to Eugene…hit a sister up, eh!?

The rest of our summer will be packing and trying to make the most of our last month in New York! Will I miss New York? ABSOLUTELY! But the world is a big place and I can’t wait to explore another part of it.

Happy Father’s Day!

When I stumbled across this adorable questionnaire on a personal blog that I follow, I thought I’d try it out on our boys for Father’s Day.  The first answer is our 7 yr old followed by our 4 yr old.

My Dad’s name is David/David.

He is  34 or 35/15  years old.

He weighs the same as a giraffe/rock.

He is as tall as a giraffe’s body/large robot.

My Dad’s work is nurse/going to work.

My Dad’s favorite food is fish tacos from Costa Vida/jalapenos.

If Dad would go on vacation he would go to Canada/Texas and take his kids and wife/clothes.

Dad’s favorite thing to do is spend time with his boys/wrestle.

My Dad is good at kissing and hugging mom/work.

My Dad shows me he loves me when he hugs me and tells me he loves me/he doesn’t.

Happy Father’s Day to my extraordinary husband!

the B family

What a dreamy location!  I only just discovered Clarksburg since the B family moved here recently.  Their beautiful new/old home is nestled in among the vineyards, only an hour away! The girls entertained themselves (and us!) by sneaking the unripe grapes, only to pucker up soon after.  Caught in the act!

A change can do you good

WE MOVED!!! (just across town. nothing life altering, really.)  So things have been a little…busy…leaving not a lot of time for snapping and blogging.  I was starting to feel a little guilty so here are a few iphone pics for your entertainment.

Unpacking and finding homes for the old.

Unpacking the NEW!!!  Sooooo exciting!!!

We’ve been taking on new family members.  Meet Tiger Kai Mountain Lion and Black Panther Cole Cooke.  Well, that’s their names this week.  Our last cat has had 6 names so far.

How is it pray tell that 8 of our 12 chickens turned out to be ROOSTERS?!

ps. anyone looking for roosters?

All that hard work requires some swimming…

and relaxing…ahhhh…thank goodness for Sundays!

The L family

I had so much fun planning this session with mom L.  She even managed to find a stylin’ beach cruiser!  So jealous…I keep waiting for my husband to come home and surprise me with one!

After the rain ruined our plans a few weekends in a row, we finally got out one gorgeous evening and played!
