Fall Fashion Week Adventures, Day 3!

My third and final day at NY Fashion Week consisted of 2 big shows…Tracy Reese and Diane Von Furstenberg. I always love a Diane show, it always brings out a variety of interesting people.

And so…back to regular life…back to trips to the park and drinking juicy juice….and just 6 months to convince one (or more) sisters to come for September Fashion Week!!

Beautiful people leaving Tracy Reese:

TV Personality Louise Roe-I just had to show her cute little outfit!

Kate Mara: So I have to admit, I had no idea who this “Kate” was and had to google her once I got home. Interestingly she is from Bedford, NY–just  30 mins away from where we live.  Her Great grandfather was the founder of the NY Giants, which explains why people were commenting to her about the Giants winning the superbowl. Also…her sister is much talked about Rooney Mara-of Dragon Tattoo, who knew!?

Canadian Actress Shenae Grimes (of 90210)…she had fans (even crying fans?!) waiting for her. Weird, no?

Nikki Reed…again

Model Selita Ebanks and boyfriend Terrence J (host of BET’s 106+Park). Cutest couple!!!

Lovely to see the beautiful socialite Tinsley Mortimer again-heading into Custo Barcelona.

Random sighting…Sandra Bernhart

Former SuperModel Beverly Johnson.

More beautiful people attending the Diane Von Furstenberg Show.

Editor in Chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour.

The beautiful Barbara Walters-she is seriously so rad…I can’t even explain!

Actress Molly Sims, rockin the pregnant glow!

Oscar DeLaRenta

Diane Sawyer

Making grey hair look good, Bravo’s Andy Cohen

Designer/stylist Rachel Zoe and her husband TV personality Rodger Berman. Their baby is the same age as Dre, so Rodger and I had a little chat about our dear sweet babies…how they are crawling and getting into absolutely everything! Yes, hoping for a playdate soon;)

Editor of Marie Claire Joanna Coles, recently seen on Project Runway All Stars as the designer’s mentor.

Marie Claire Fashion Director and Project Runway judge, Nina Garcia.

The beautiful Coco Rocha…what show didn’t she attend!?

Fashion Blogger Bryan Boy.

And last of all, one of my favorite fashion bloggers (and total gentleman) Karl-Edwin Guerre. This guy is one cool cat.

Fall Fashion Week adventures, Day 2!

Today started out FANTASTIC! I went to the Ruffian Fashion Show and backstage to Porter Grey-will post pictures soon! Spent most of the day with my Fashion Week Family and saw plenty of fashion royalty…here are some snaps from my day…..

Kellen Lutz (of Twilight) leaving Lacoste. This guy is sooo nice I always think he must have some Canadian roots! Seriously one of the nicest male celebrities I have ever met.

Ladies leaving the Jill Stuart Show

Nicki Reed

Always a smile on Kelly Bensimon of Real Housewives of New York

Olivia Palermo-Love her or hate her…this girl has amazing style and is simply gorgeous!

Headed downtown to the Prabal Gurung fashion show.

One of the first people I see, Bill Cunningham! Bill basically started the street fashion photography movement. He is a rockstar in my eyes.

Joe Zee, another rad guy. I mean, what 44-year-old can pull off this look besides him!? Love it!

Hal Rubenstein, Fashion Director of InStyle. I like this quote from his biography on The Huffington Post, “Hal was born in New York and has never seen any reason to live anywhere else.” How true!

Derek Blasberg (Editor at large of Harper’s Bazaar) interviewing Elettra Wiedemann (model and daughter of Isabella Rossellini)

Ken Downing, Fashion Director at Neiman Marcus.

Some of the more ‘colorful crowd’

Mickey Boardman + Kim Hastreiter of Paper Magazine

Lynn Yaeger, Vogue contributor.

Socialite, Michelle Harper

And last of all another fabulous Canadian, Stylist Brad Goreski!

Next up was the VPL fashion show! Pictures are poor, as the place was packed and we arrived late. After a few unsuccessful snaps, I put my camera away and simply enjoyed the show!

Backstage with the designer, Victoria Barlett.

Headed back to Lincoln Center to see the star-studded Herve Leger by Max Azria letting out.

Our beautiful Canadian Coco Rocha

Kristin Chenoweth-always so sweet!

One of my favorite pictures of the weekend….fighting with the papps to get to Camila Alves (Brazilian model).

Torrey Devito of Pretty Little Liars and Vampire Diaries.

DJ Harley Viera Newton (doesn’t she just have the coolest name!?)

One of my favorite fashion bloggers, Hanneli.

Another one of my favorite shots of the weekend. Poppy Montgomery (actress on Unforgettable)…who was going into her FIRST fashion show ever. What a great first show!

Little superstar Nina Dobrev (Raised in Canada!) of The Vampire Diaries.

And another cool cool man, Designer Max Azria. He must be one of the hardest working people in fashion, with 6 clothing collections!!!…not to mention 6 children!!! Where does he find the time and energy…!?

Fall Fashion Week Adventures, Day 1

Fall. Fashion. Week.

Cold or not…here I am! And happy to be here!

There is nothing like fashion week to make you realize that you’ve become lazy with fashion. Since having Dre, I’ve let myself slip into the ‘comfortable dressing’ zone. I mean, who needs to wear 6 inch heels to storytime? Or why bother curling your hair just for a trip to Toys R Us? But I saw Rachel Zoe (who’s baby Skylar is the same age as Dre) and she is looking AMAzing! Nina Garcia….gORGeous! Molly Sims is prego and rockin’ the heels! So here’s to stepping it up!

This February there were even fewer celebs than usual…and some of my favorite models are no longer walking in NYFW (ahhum karly kloss!) BUT I attended 2 shows and was backstage at another…so that made up for it. Over the next week I will try to blog my Fashion Week adventures….Stay tuned!

Celebs at the Rebecca Minkoff show

Nikki Reed of the Twilight Saga

and with her cute husband Paul McDonald (my fav American Idol competitor)!

Actress Abigail Breslin who was sooo sweet! She took time to sign autographs and get pictures taken with every young person that stopped her. So sweet.

Kristin Chenoweth and Jennifer Aspen – watch for them in the upcoming TV series GCB.

Model Actress Carol Alt

Sami Gayle from TV series Blue Bloods

Canada’s own, Coca Rocha!

Model Actress Beverly Johnson

Other fabulous people out and about the area…Joe Zee, creative director of Elle.

Ann Shoket (LOVING her jacket!) – editor-in-chief of Seventeen magazine

Zoe Kravitz leaving the Rebecca Taylor show

Designer Charlotte Ronson, with her DJ sister  Samantha arriving only 30 mins before her show!

Angela Simmons (daughter of Russell Simmons) attending the Charlotte Ronson show

While I definitely miss Bryant Park, the scene here is gorgeous day and night.

André Leon Talley

“There are no rules in Fashion….as you can tell by what I’m wearing today.” Andre Leon Talley

I went to a fantastic talk at FIT with André Leon Talley….and wow! Impressed! This man has really taken his childhood dreams and made them into a reality. He said that as a child he would read through Vogue and post up the pictures on his walls. At a very young age he even announced, to his family’s dismay, that he wanted to be a fashion editor. He went to Brown University to become a french teacher and upon graduation was encouraged, by friends, to move to New York and persue his love for fashion. At one point he was poor, living at a YMCA (in his words, “living with the human and nonhuman
cockroaches”). He worked for Andy Warhol (yeah…THAT Andy) for fifty dollars a week! He kept at it, and was impeccable with his work and impressed the right people. For those of you who aren’t familiar
with Andrea-he is the former American editor-at-large for Vogue Magazine and currently a contributing editor as well as judge on America’s Next Top Model.

He had fabulous stories to tell about people in the fashion industry (his best friend-…uh…Karl Lagerfeld!!), advice to give about the fashion industry as well as his general opinions on fashion, art etc. Overall he was very well spoken, very funny and wasn’t afraid to poke fun at himself-which I loved!

PETA people protesting his talk.

Andre’s advice to young people…getting ahead in the business by using manners, etiquette and talent. He gets into it at the 55sec mark.
